Additional services to compliment tecni-form's core capablities
The standard process for rotational moulding is described above in the section on rotational moulding, and some of the available specialist processes are described briefly - and in more depth in the Design Guides section. However much you read about a subject, there is no subsitute for practical experience and in-depth knowledge of a process. So, to meet the growing needs of their customers, tecni-form have extended the services they can provide.
Assistance with product design
One of the great strengths of rotational moulding over other processes is that it can be relatively inexpensive - the complexity of the moulds allows reasonably intricate moulds to be produced withing a short space of time and for a lower financial outlay.
Compared with other plastics moulding processes, rotational moulding moulds are considerably lower in cost, and compared directly with injection or blow moulding tools, are no more than one fifth of the cost. This mould economy allows for cost amortisation over shorter product life or quantity.
Most of the moulds that tecni-form use are made from cast aluminium, as this allows for complex component design, and for the application of surface texture using shot-peening. However, increased cost-savings can be achieved by making moulds for simple components that are not designed to be seen by making them from sheet metal.
