Rotationally moulded products in use

The uses for rotational mouldings are extensive. They stretch far beyond the basic enclosed box or tank, which were typical early applications. By choosing the correct polymer, tecni-form can produce articles with various physical properties: thus the result can range from extremely flexible - inflatable even - to very rigid and impact resistant, such as a protective capping.

Although a moulding starts as an enclosed hollow shape, that does not limit the shape of the final product. For example, the original moulding can consist of two or more combined shapes which can then be separated to produce two or more separate products. Holes, cutouts and slots can be created, completely changing the geometry and character of the piece. One example is heater ducting for a vehicle.

Additionally, tecni-form are unusual among rotational moulders in that they can undertake to build up complete assemblies of plastic, metal and other parts to achieve what the customer requires. An example is plastic cab roofs for excavators, which incorporate steel mounts and wiring looms. tecni-form can take over responsibility for sourcing the parts.

Rotational Moulding in Different Industries

As the range of processes they can bring to bear on their components is so adaptable to most industries, tecni-form think the most effective way of describing the uses of rotationally-moulded components is to show you plastic components in use.

From the automotive industry to advertising, from furniture to medical supplies, rotationally moulded components are used in most market sectors. Take a look at the sections on the left to see just how versatile rotationally moulded plastic can be.
